Telix .MDM modem definition file -- revision history
_______________________________________________________________________
v1.05
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Moved several models' S7/S11 settings to the init string from NRAM.
Some modems do not store the speed and wait settings in NRAM. This
should speed up a modem or two. Added pauses to several of these
to allow for better initializing.
Added the following modems to the program:
Cardinal 9600 v.32
USR Sportster 2400 MNP
VivaModem 24m
Incomm Classic 2400
Corrected Ventel 2400-33 (same type as the Pathfinder had).
Corrected UDS v.32 modem (NRAM settings modified)
FINALLY fixed the Zoom problem. It was an extraneous character at the
end of the string; it simply looked natural there, and we missed it.
v1.04 05/18/91
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
No changes to MODEMCFG.EXE this time (finally!). Version 1.03 is the
current version of MODEMCFG.EXE.
Fixed a typo in the Ventel Pathfinder.
Zoom modems changed X4 to X3, since some versions of the modems do NOT
support X4. This should finally cure the Zoom init error problems.
CTS Datacomm fixed typo (^C1 to &C1) -- should now work.
Found an extra record in the file that was causing display errors in the
Incomm 2400EC area. Fixed.
Dropped the DTE rates for the following modems back to 4800: Cardinal
2400 MNP and Everex 24+. Should allow for much more reliable
operation.
Fixed a minor typo and rearranged the order of options on the Intel.
Practical Peripherals 2400SA's had an error in their documentation.
Correction made to the string to allow proper DTR operation (i.e. no
more "hangup failed").
v1.03 05/01/91
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Differentiated between Practical Peripherals SA and SA/MNP modems.
Differentiated between Cardinal 2400 and 2400/MNP modems.
Differentiated between a couple of ZOOM models. Zoom inits should
now work much better!
Corrected a bug in the USR v.32bis modem (changed &B7 to &B1), and
added the &W command to write the settings.
USR VarModem switch 10 position reversed.
GVC 2400 was not saving settings properly in NRAM -- modified init
string to compensate.
Added the Incomm 2400EC modem.
Made minor changes to the Forval string on the advice of Forval Tech
Support.
Increased DTE rate of several modems with v.42bis to 38,400 from 19,200,
including the PM9600SA and a couple of USR models.
Made several changes to the Racal Vadic series for error correction
control, flow control, and better throughput. Thanks Jerry Buxton!
Changed X1 to X4 for the Hayes 1200B modems. Thanks Bruce Wilson!
v1.02 04/05/91
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Added GVC MNP-5 modem to the modem set.
Added Forval modems to the modem set.
Corrected a parameter to the Intel 9600EX for high speed connects.
Corrected switch settings for Okidata OkiTel 9600 on advice of Okidata
Tech Support.
Corrected &H setting on the Fastcomm 9696 v.32 modem.
Corrected situation one a few modems where two kinds of flow control
were set to active simultaneously. While this would not affect
connect rates, it might affect throughput by a few cps.
Allowed for a bug in one revision of the ATI 2400 etc/e v.42 where the
&F2 directive incorrectly set the v.42 &K register to 2 rather than 3
where it should be for v.42 handshaking. Fixed by explicitly adding
&K3 to the NRAM settings.
v1.01 04/03/91
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Corrected typographical error and switch settings for US Robotics HST
modems.
v1.00 04/02/91
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Initial release with Telix in TLX315-2.ZIP.
